Food Support in Peterborough

Peterborough Foodbank

Offer food parcels to those who are unable to afford food. If you need support from Peterborough Foodbank, please call the FREE National Citizens Advice Line (open Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm). In addition to be being able to issue foodbank vouchers, they can provide information and advice on welfare benefits and debt issues. 

Millfield Community Fridge

Anyone can access, no need for a referral. They offer free fruit, veg, bread and other basic supplies. They rely on donations of  surplus food from supermarkets, food businesses and individuals. Open Door Baptist Church Hall on Searjeant Street, Millfield, Peterborough PE1 2LY. 

Paston Farm Centre

Community fridge is available to everyone. Anyone can come and take some food, choosing what they want. You need to bring carrier bags. Paston Farm Centre, Freston, Paston, Peterborough PE4 7XP. 

Food Cycle
Their mission is to nourish communities using surplus food. They are currently running a Cook-and-Collect programme. Please see the website or email them for up-to-date information on how to access.

The Food Basket

The Food Basket is a pop-up community fridge running at different locations in the evenings each week. This is an initiative to reduce food waste and NOT a food bank – everyone is welcome to turn up and take what they need to prevent surplus food from going to landfill.

Family Action’s Food On Our Doorstep (FOOD) club

If you live or work within a 15 minutes radius of the Woodfield Park Community Centre you can join for £1 a year and purchase a preordered bag of food every week worth approximately £15 for just £3.50. Woodfield Park Community Centre, Normanton Road, Welland, Peterborough, PE1 4XE. 

St Peter’s Food Bank

St. Peter’s work in partnership with Yaxley Parish Council, local schools and other voluntary and statutory organisations in the wider Peterborough area to help meet the local need. They also signpost to agencies who can offer additional help and begin to resolve any underlying problems.

Thorney Eye and Surrounding Areas Food Bank
This is a completely community run Food Hub based in Thorney. They aim to provide parcels that will support feeding the family for a week, as well as hygiene products. They do not require any referrals but do ask that if you require a parcel please email  by 6pm on a Friday for collection on Saturday morning.

Little Miracles

Little Miracles supports families that have children with additional needs, disabilities and life limiting conditions. They can provide and where needed deliver weekly food parcels for any families that have a child with a disability. Get in contact to find out how they can help.

Peterborough Homeless Helpers
Provision of food, clothing, toiletries and other essentials to rough sleepers, the homeless and those transitioning into accommodation. 

Peterborough Soup Kitchen

A local charity for homeless and disadvantaged people from in and around the city. They serve a hot meal from their van at Wellington Street carpark M – F evenings and earlier on Saturday and Sunday;
